Lizhu 28th April 2021

Dear Dr. Sanbar, it took me long to believe that you have left us. We were still talked about work in February and I was expecting your next trip to Beijing. I first came to work for you in our Beijing office in November 2015, I thought it was temporary, but it ended up to be my longest job so far. You never really told me what is right or wrong, but you inspired me all the way both in work and as a person. You were a hardworking man but in an enjoyable way, you love what you do, you always full of energy and enthusiasm. You were a truly global citizen, you understand and respect every culture, your exceptional entrepreneurial mindset and business vision has made you a great boss, I enjoyed every conversation with you, and always fascinated about your extraordinarily stories. As a person, you were kind, generous and respective to every human being. You were encouraging and love to spread positivity. I was grateful that you have tried to help my family business. You care about people’s feeling even in the smallest thing, I remember once we were having a conversation, you were describing someone is short, like my height, and I replied “I am not short, I am just below the average”, I wasn’t feeling offended or anything, I was joking with you, but the second morning, you were still having this in mind, when I entered our “office” in Kempinski, you looked at me, saying “yes, you are not short”, we both laughed. It was a very small thing that happened between us, but moments like this happened all the time which has really touched me. Having the honor to know and worked for you, made me believe that there are people like you who have a big heart, never complain about life, always be good, do good and spread the love. You are that kind of people who made this world wonderful. I feel sorry that we never had the chance to have a proper goodbye, and there are still lots of work that we want to accomplished together, but I believe your spirit will light us to a bright future, you have touched, enriched and inspired my life and lives of many, these precious memories that you have left together with your big smile will be missed and cherished forever. Love, Lizhu Ping
