My brother Ramzi was no ordinary man. From the moment he was born, our parents, Habib & Georgette Sanbar, named him Ramzi Which translates into “my emblem “ in English, Thus predicting the trailblazer he would become. My brother had a great personality. He left an undeniable impression on anyone he met. Whether you knew him a little or you knew him well, You couldn’t help but be charmed by his infectious smile, Impressed by his accomplishments and his vision of the future He was a renaissance man, a family man, a cosmopolitan man and a resourceful man . Most of all Ramzi was my beloved brother with the heart of gold and a generous nature . He was the brother who would sit with me when I was little and afraid of the dark , until I fell asleep He was the brother who would take me to the movies, provided I got the money from Mom.( enterprising even then ) He was the brother who would always bring a smile to my face. He would sit me down as a captive audience , when he was a teenager and ask me to judge the lyrics of his song which consisted of “Baby baby baby” sang in different keys , high notes , low notes. He was the one who would console me when my husband George died. Now I need him to console me for loosing him, my wonderful, loving brother! I can hear him telling me as he did many years ago , one evening, in Marbella when , as a young widow I did not want to be sociable “ Gilo, people love you for your personality, for your ability to laugh& enjoy life, don’t lose that . Come on, get up let’s go & join the party” Yes , your love of life, the fond memories we have will carry me for now Ramzi was no ordinary man , he was my brother! Forever in my heart !
